Advice on Boarding

Fotolia_21713901_XS

Naturally, a dog who is relaxed about boarding is more likely to board well and enjoy the experience.

Sometimes boarding can induce a temporary change to your dogs behavior and nature. For example he may shred a bed he’s slept on for years. Mr Outgoing may become reserved and the teenage tear away may turn in to the model student.

Eating habits may also change, in that Mr Picky may become Mr Greedy and vice versa. Those that eat as they usually would, may lose weight as they are far more active and burn more calories due to the excitement of the kennel environment and some may even put weight on.

Dogs can go home exhausted but happy and sleep a lot for the first few days at home. A bit like us after a great holiday, we still like to get back into our own bed. The great thing for your pet is they have no washing to do!!!

Dogs don’t really have a concept of time so they will be just as happy to see you if you left them for several hours or several days.
